Rejoice, California Gurls – the CW will air an hourlong album release special with Katy Perrylater this month.
To celebrate the launch of her latest album “Prism,” Perry has planned a fete with iHeartRadiofor Oct. 22, the day of the album’s release. Party will take place at the iHeartRadio Theater in Los Angeles, and also mark the opening of the event center, which is located next to the CW headquarters in Burbank.
Aside from performing live, Perry will also partake in a Q&A with Mario Lopez about the making of her album during the taping of the event.
The CW will broadcast the bubblegum pop star’s album release party on Oct. 25 at 9 p.m., following the season premiere of femme-skewing dramedy “The Carrie Diaries.”
News follows the CW airing iHeartRadio’s Vegas music fest earlier this week. The network and music org have enjoyed a healthy relationship with one another since the CW paired with iHeartRadio to broadcast its concert specials last year.
